That was a fantastic
day. I was so excited (and nervous) to do my first car boot sale in order to
fundraise for our charity group
"Child of Brazil". As I parked and was getting ready to unpack there
were some people already looking into the car and asking for any Lego and
computer games. Well, unfortunately, I didn't have any. I set up my stall with
Brazilian flags and bunting and a banner showing that all proceeds would go to
charity in Brazil.
I took ages to set up
everything because I wanted everything well organized and tidy in my stall.
After having everything organized I thought about having a cup of coffee (I
always take my flask with me as I don't want to ask my neighbours to keep an
eye on my stall for me to buy a cup of coffee or to go to the toilet). As soon
as I looked for my flask in the car I realised I forgot my packed lunch that I
prepared early in the morning :( Never mind, I would not starve, I could wait
until I got back home, I was more excited than hungry. Time passed really
quickly and before I knew it, it was time to pack up but I still wanted to sell
more, unfortunately the event was ending.
My excitement was
because I thought all the time I was doing something to help raise some money
for the poor children in Brazil but there is something I learned from this
experience: people will always want your things for free, even if you say you
are doing it for charity, oh they will, and that is really annoying.
